In 2019 the idea of ExtraTECH Analytical Solutions was born, to create a spin-off company that translates scientific discovery in tangible ways to directly benefit analytical laboratories. The company capitalizes from the vast research experience of its team and offers breakthrough sample preparation products and methods that work under vacuum. ExtraTECH Analytical Solutions has developed and globally commercializes a series of patent pending closures for different microextraction technologies. These specially designed closures offer gastight seal to commercial 20 mL headspace vials and allow headspace microextraction sampling under vacuum conditions. The analytical methods offered, ensure fast extraction under mild conditions and at the same time, reduce costs, energy demands and laboratory waste.

Prof. Elia Psillakis
Founder & Director
Elia Psillakis is the Founder and Director of ExtraTECH Analytical Solutions. She was the first to formulate the theory behind the positive effect of vacuum on headspace SPME. She also introduced criteria for predicting the effect and gave new insights into headspace microextraction. She expanded the applicability of the vacuum-assisted methods from SPME fiber to high-capacity sorbents and described the theory behind the additional advantages of adopting the vacuum approach on these sorbents. In parallel to her research studies, she continuously developed new closures offering gastight seal to commercial vials for extended times and during microextraction operations.
Dave Bell
Business Development Consultant
Dave Bell is a scientific leader with over 30 years of expertise in chromatography, product development, and advancing scientific innovation. As Lead Consultant and Owner of ASKkPrime, LLC, founded in 2024, Dave applies his deep expertise to support science-driven innovation and business growth. Previously, as a Research Fellow at Restek Corporation, he developed novel chromatographic technologies through external collaborations and fundamental research, significantly enhancing the company’s image and revenue potential. As Director of GC Solutions at Restek, he led a team of 25 scientists, achieving the division’s first major product launch in five years.
Angeliki Pateraki
Application Chemist
Angeliki Pateraki is developing new vacuum-assisted methods, focusing on food and environmental applications. She obtained her Chemistry degree in 2020 from the University of Crete (UoC), Greece with with Summa Cum Laude. She has received several awards from the Hellenic Marine Board and National Bank of Greece, in recognition of her academic achievements. She received a grant from the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation and was ranked second in Greece. In 2020, she was also awarded the most innovative food analysis application poster contribution at the 1st European Sample Preparation Conference.
Evangelos Giannoulakis
Advisor
Evan has over 30 years of P&L managerial experience. Following his international business studies degree with the Metropolitan University of Manchester, UK in 1996 and for 20 years he held various positions in family business where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations and strategic development of the family-owned group of companies growing sustainable revenue of €3M – €10M by creating effective executive teams that delivered transformation, value, purpose and innovation. The last 12 years he has been running his own sales contracting & consulting services business in EMEA for a travel technology company offering global Central Reservations solutions for independent hotels and chains.

ExtraTECH Analytical Solutions is also an ordinary member of the SEV Scale up Community of the SEV-Hellenic Federation of Enterprises the largest business network in Greece, representing major industrial and important enterprises in Greece.
